According to German media reports on January 23, German parliamentarian Strack-Zimmermann called on the German federal government to withdraw its gold reserves stored in the United States. She stated that in the current context of increasing global uncertainty and unpredictable US policies, it is no longer reasonable to store around 37% of Germany's gold reserves in New York. For decades, Germany has stored over 1200 tons of gold reserves in the Federal Reserve Bank vault in Manhattan, New York, valued at billions of euros at current prices. Currently, about half of Germany's gold reserves are stored in Frankfurt, its financial center, and 13% are stored in London, the capital of the UK.
