According to the Financial Times, Google DeepMind CEO Sir Demis has warned that the enthusiasm in certain areas of the artificial intelligence industry is starting to look more like a "bubble." At the same time, he believes that the scale and technology of Google enable it to effectively deal with any potential reckoning. The British Nobel laureate noted that investment levels in certain sectors of the technology industry have become detached from commercial reality. "Seed funding of tens of billions of dollars for new startups without products, technology, or anything else seems a bit unsustainable," he stated at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week, adding that this may lead to "adjustments in certain parts of the market." However, other tech leaders at Davos like NVIDIA's Jensen Huang and Microsoft's Nadella have dismissed concerns about overinvestment in the industry.
