Google acquires 3D image generation startup Common Sense Machines.

A Google spokesperson confirmed that the company has acquired Common Sense Machines, a company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the United States. The company specializes in the development of generative artificial intelligence models that can convert 2D images into 3D digital assets. The spokesperson stated that the transaction was completed this week, but did not disclose the amount of the acquisition. According to information on the professional networking platform LinkedIn, the company has about 12 employees. Data shows that the company previously received a $10 million investment from investors like the Anderson Horowitz Fund, with a latest valuation of $15 million. One of the co-CEOs of Common Sense Machines, Tajas Kulkarni, previously worked at Google DeepMind as a research scientist and co-founded the company in 2020.
