The message stated that there was intelligence showing that the ship was "sailing along well-known drug smuggling routes in the East Pacific and engaging in drug smuggling activities." In this operation, two "drug terrorist" individuals on the ship were killed, with one person surviving. The message also stated that after the attack, the U.S. Southern Command immediately informed the U.S. Coast Guard to initiate a search system to find survivors.
