The spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 22nd that, at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin will pay an official visit to China from January 25th to 28th. The spokesperson stated that during Prime Minister Marin's visit to China, President Xi Jinping will meet with her, and Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman Zhao Leji will also have separate meetings with her to exchange views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern. A news release posted on the Finnish government website on the 22nd said that the purpose of the visit is to continue dialogue with Chinese leaders and promote Finnish business activities in China. Formal discussions will cover bilateral relations between Finland and China, EU-China relations, and international hot-button issues such as the conflict in Ukraine. Prime Minister Marin stated: "Continuing dialogue with China on bilateral cooperation and current international hot-button issues is crucial, such as challenges faced in rule-based systems and trade." She also mentioned that China is an important export market for Finnish companies and is the European Union's second-largest trading partner and emphasized that the relationship between the EU and China must be based on mutual benefit, equal market access, and reciprocity.
