On Wednesday, the New York spot gold closed up 1.51% at $4835 per ounce. The Asia-Pacific market continued to rise from the early trading session, reaching $4888.42 per ounce at 14:27 Beijing time, hitting a new historical high for the third consecutive trading day. It then continued to fluctuate at high levels, before suddenly dropping at 03:27 - Trump claimed to have reached a framework agreement with NATO on "future Greenland agreements". COMEX gold futures rose 1.60% to $4841.90 per ounce, also hitting a new historical high at 14:27.
