During his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Donald Trump repeatedly referred to Greenland as Iceland. When discussing negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, he mistakenly called Greenland Iceland for the first time. Trump expressed his desire to help end the Russia-Ukraine conflict and added that it would also be beneficial for Europe: "I am helping Europe, I am helping NATO. A few days ago, I told them about Iceland, and they all liked me." When questioning whether NATO would come to the aid of the United States in case of an attack, Trump again referred to Greenland as Iceland. He said, "They don't help us in Iceland, I can tell you that. Our stock market fell yesterday for the first time because of Iceland, so Iceland has cost us a lot of money." Throughout his speech, he repeatedly referred to Greenland as "a big block of ice."
