French energy company Engie signs ten-year agreement with PepsiCo UK for the purchase of bio-methane.
On January 21st, the French energy company Engie issued a statement announcing that it had signed a ten-year biogas purchase agreement with the UK branch of PepsiCo. Under the agreement, Engie will build a new anaerobic digestion plant to provide 60 gigawatt hours of biogas to PepsiCo's supply chain each year, equivalent to the natural gas consumption of over 5000 households. The contract is scheduled to begin in 2027.
