The Spring Festival travel rush in the Yangtze River Delta railway region is expected to transport over 100 million passengers in 40 days. The number of short and medium-distance night high-speed train services has significantly increased.
The Spring Festival transportation plan for the Yangtze River Delta Railway in 2026 was released. It is estimated that the number of passengers transported during the 40 days of Spring Festival will exceed 100 million for the first time, reaching 1.03 billion, with an average of 2.575 million passengers per day, an increase of 4% compared to last year's Spring Festival, setting a new record. The Yangtze River Delta Railway department plans to add 437.5 pairs of passenger trains on top of the peak operating schedule, with the highest number of passenger trains running in a single day during the peak period exceeding 1700 pairs, actively responding to the large passenger flow during the Spring Festival travel.
