Bridgewater Fund says it is still optimistic about the Chinese stock market this year. The recent rise in China's stock market led its onshore hedge fund to achieve a 45% return in 2025, which is the best performance in at least five years. Bridgewater Fund stated that following a significant increase last year, the Chinese stock market "still remains attractive to some extent" as corporate earnings expectations improve. The company's Shanghai private equity fund management company stated in a December investor letter that it holds a "moderately optimistic" attitude toward both the absolute returns of stocks and relative returns compared to other assets. Bridgewater Fund's "All-Weather Enhanced Fund" invests in stocks, bonds, and commodities, and rose 9.1% in the fourth quarter, with a full-year return of 44.5% before fees. The benchmark Shanghai Shenzhen 300 Index rose 18% during the same period.
