According to the office of the Flood Control and Drought Resistance Command of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as of 10:00 on January 21, 2026, the Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River has entered a stable period of ice closure, with a total length of ice closure of 637 kilometers. The Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River experienced floating ice from Sanchakou to Dachengxihe in Baotou City on November 19, 2025, and the first ice closure of the year at Sanchakou on December 4. Currently, the Yellow River in Inner Mongolia is divided into two sections by the Haibowan Water Conservancy Hub, with 34 kilometers of ice closure above the dam, and 603 kilometers of ice closure from the Sanshenggong Water Conservancy Hub reservoir area to the dam of Wanjiachai Water Conservancy Hub. The total length of ice closure in the Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River is 637 kilometers.
