Halliburton releases job advertisement, taking a step towards returning to Venezuela.
Halliburton Company posted a recruitment notice on January 16th on a recruitment website, indicating that the company is collecting resumes for a series of positions in Venezuela, suggesting that the company may return to the South American country. Just weeks after the U.S. government imposed control on Venezuelan President Maduro, U.S. President Trump called on oil companies to invest $100 billion in Venezuela to significantly increase production. Halliburton Company exited Venezuela in 2020 after U.S. sanctions and laid off all employees, and is currently gathering information on engineers, technicians, and other oil technology workers, as well as recent graduates interested in joining the company's "talent network" in Venezuela. The recruitment platform stated that the information submitted by applicants will allow recruiters to view their profiles for future potential job opportunities, but these information does not constitute a formal application.
