High-speed train from Madrid to Barcelona in Spain has some speed restrictions.
The Spanish Railway Infrastructure Management Authority announced on the 20th that temporary speed limits will be implemented on certain sections of the high-speed railway between the capital Madrid and the country's second largest city, Barcelona. On the same day, rescue workers confirmed that a high-speed train accident in the province of Cordoba had resulted in the death of 42 people. A spokesperson for the Railway Infrastructure Management Authority announced that, due to reports from train drivers about uneven tracks on the high-speed rail line between Madrid and Barcelona, temporary speed limits would be implemented on the relevant sections for safety reasons. The agency's railway maintenance department is scheduled to inspect the tracks on the evening of the 20th, and if everything is normal, the speed limits "will likely be lifted."
