According to the China Meteorological Administration, at around 02:09 Beijing time on January 19, Sunspot region 14341 erupted with an X1.9-class solar flare. This is the first X-class solar flare to occur on the sun in 2026. Currently, the flare process has ended as the X-ray flux has started to decline. Since the flare occurred during nighttime in China, it did not affect the ionosphere or shortwave radio communications in the corresponding regions. Sunspot region 14341 is located in the middle-eastern region of the sun, with an area of 500uh and a magnetic field type of a more complex - type. This flare was also accompanied by a coronal mass ejection, forming a full halo CME due to the relatively direct position of the eruption region in relation to Earth.
