According to the Ministry of Commerce, China's non-financial outward direct investment is expected to increase by 1.3% in 2025, ranking among the top in the world. It is reported that in 2025, China's non-financial outward direct investment reached 145.66 billion US dollars, an increase of 1.3% compared to the previous year, maintaining a top three position in the world for nine consecutive years. The newly signed contracts for foreign contracted projects amount to 289.22 billion US dollars, an increase of 8.2%, with continuously improving scale and effectiveness; the quality and effectiveness of foreign aid continue to improve, effectively serving the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative. 2026 marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan. All levels of commerce authorities will coordinate development and security, guide the rational and orderly cross-border layout of industrial and supply chains, promote the integration of trade and investment, improve the overseas comprehensive service system, effectively implement foreign investment management, and promote a good start and progress in foreign investment and economic cooperation during the 15th Five-Year Plan.
