The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam officially opens.
The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam officially opened on the 20th at the National Convention Center in the capital city of Hanoi. Vietnamese President Liang Qiang delivered the opening speech, and the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Su Lin, submitted a report to the congress on behalf of the 13th Central Committee. The 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam will discuss and approve a series of documents, including the political report of the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a summary of theoretical and practical issues in the 40-year renovation cause of Vietnam, a summary of the implementation of the Party Charter for 15 years from 2011 to 2025, and the work report of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In addition, the congress will also elect the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In terms of document preparation, the Communist Party of Vietnam will integrate the "Political Report," "Social and Economic Report," and "Party Building Report" into a unified "Political Report." This "Political Report" includes an action plan for the first time, specifying the specific content, timeline, and responsibilities for each task. The draft has already solicited feedback from society, receiving nearly 14 million opinions. A total of 1,586 delegates representing more than 5.6 million members of the Communist Party of Vietnam attended the 14th Congress. The preparatory meeting held on the 19th of the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam adopted the agenda of the congress, working rules, and election rules, and elected a Presidium consisting of 16 members of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, including Su Lin.
