To cope with the peak travel period during the Spring Festival, Singapore Changi Airport Group announced on the 19th that the airport will add more than 600 additional flights from February 1st to March 8th, covering direct routes between Singapore and 15 Chinese cities. The announcement stated that China is Singapore's largest source of tourists, and the Spring Festival has long been an important period for Chinese travelers to visit Singapore. With the winter holidays and the Spring Festival approaching, the airport will experience another peak in passenger flow. The statement also mentioned that flights from cities such as Nanchang, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Wuhan, and Zhengzhou will be added for the first time during the Spring Festival holiday. With the continuous promotion of the visa waiver policy between China and Singapore, the number of tourists traveling in both directions has been increasing steadily. According to data from the Singapore Tourism Board, from January to November 2025, the number of visitors from mainland China to Singapore reached 2.93 million, ranking first among all tourist source countries. Lim Choon Kee, Executive Vice President of Airline and Cargo Development at Changi Airport Group, stated that the significantly increased capacity of flights between Singapore and China during the Spring Festival reflects the strong demand for travel between the two countries and also demonstrates the close cooperation between Changi Airport and various airlines. During the Spring Festival, Changi Airport will also launch online and offline Chinese New Year-themed activities, including consumer promotions and payment discounts, as well as more merchants extending their operating hours or opening for night-time business.
