BlackRock CEO: The market underestimates the issue of US Treasury bonds, but remains optimistic about the US economy.
BlackRock CEO Larry Fink stated that the US national debt issue may soon attract market attention. With US debt soaring to over $38 trillion, Fink believes that the market is underestimating the moment when fiscal policy, rather than monetary policy, becomes a major issue. Fink said, "Over the past year, especially as I see a lot of headlines about US national debt, most of the time these headlines have not received enough attention." Despite the challenges, Fink still believes in the US economy and sees the current situation as generally positive. He believes that the bull market story still holds true, but its sustainability has become more important. Especially for risk assets, Fink believes that today's investments look much better than they did a year ago.
