Brazil launches anti-dumping investigation on phenol formaldehyde resin from China

On January 16th, the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil issued Notice No. 2 of 2026, initiating an anti-dumping investigation on phenolic resins originating from China at the request of the Brazilian company ASK Crios Produtos Qumicos Ltda, submitted on April 29, 2025. The products under investigation have the NCM (Mercosur Common Nomenclature) classification codes 3909.40.11, 3909.40.19, 3909.40.91 and 3909.40.99. The dumping investigation period is from January 2024 to December 2024, and the injury investigation period is from January 2020 to December 2024. The notice takes effect from the date of publication. Questionnaires will be sent to exporters/producers, importers and other domestic producers, and stakeholders must submit their responses through the SEI electronic information system within 30 days of receiving the questionnaire. Stakeholders may request a hearing within 5 months from the start of the investigation.
