The Danish investment fund EIFO has a "strong interest" in investing in Greenland Island.
According to reports, the CEO of a Danish state-owned export and investment fund stated that the fund has hundreds of millions of euros available for allocation this year, with a "significant portion" to be used in the key mineral and energy sectors in Greenland. "We have a strong interest in further expanding our business in Greenland," he added, mentioning that there are "numerous potential investment opportunities" in the region. These remarks were made against the backdrop of a diplomatic dispute sparked by President Trump's public expression of interest in purchasing or even invading Greenland.
