The first meeting of the Fifth Session of the Staff Representative Assembly of State Grid Corporation of China and the 2026 Work Conference was held in Beijing from January 15th to 16th, 2026. Zhang Zhigang, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Secretary of the Party Committee of the company, emphasized the need to lead the high-quality development of State Grid in the "14th Five-Year Plan" with the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping. It is necessary to focus on seven key aspects. Firstly, to firmly shoulder responsibilities and missions, take the lead in serving the major national strategies. Better serve the high-quality development of the economy and society, the construction of a new development pattern, the construction of a beautiful China, and the guarantee and improvement of people's livelihood. Secondly, accelerate the construction of a new type of power system to promote the building of a strong energy country. Strengthen the coordination of main and distribution microgrids, comprehensively enhance the acceptance, allocation, and control capabilities of new energy, focus on improving system regulation capabilities, and accelerate digital transformation. Thirdly, strengthen key core technology research, promote deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation. Increase high-quality scientific and technological supply, promote efficient conversion of achievements, and build a high-level innovation ecosystem. Fourthly, comprehensively deepen reforms and accelerate the construction of a world-class enterprise. Deepen the reform of state-owned enterprises, strengthen enterprise management, and improve the quality and efficiency of business coordination and development. Fifth, coordinate development and security, effectively prevent and resolve various risks. Build a solid dam for power grid security risk prevention and weave a dense legal and compliance operation defense line. Sixth, adhere to and strengthen the overall leadership of the Party, providing fundamental guarantee for the high-quality development of the company. Focus on the high-quality construction of the Party's political foundation, grass-roots party building, cadre team building, and talent team building. Seventh, deeply promote strict governance of the Party in an all-round way and create a clean and upright political ecology.
