Yemen's National Defense Council convenes an emergency meeting to discuss security situation in eastern provinces.

On December 26th, local time, the National Defense Committee of Yemen held an emergency meeting. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Committee, with several members of the Presidential Leadership Committee in attendance. The attendees also included the Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Consultative Council, as well as Vice Speakers of the Parliament and Consultative Council, members of the Consultative and Reconciliation Committee, several ministers and heads of military and police institutions from the National Defense Committee, and the Governor of Hadhramaut Province. The meeting received a report on the latest situation in the eastern provinces of Yemen. The meeting noted that recent military actions by the Southern Transitional Council in Hadhramaut and Mahra provinces have been accompanied by serious human rights violations against civilians. The meeting also mentioned an attack in the Nahabh Valley in Hadhramaut province in the past few hours, which is believed to blatantly violate the mediation efforts being promoted by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
