Winter storm warning causes over a thousand flights of US airline companies to be cancelled.

According to the flight tracking website FlightAware, due to the impact of a severe winter storm alert, several airlines in the United States canceled and delayed thousands of flights during the peak holiday travel period on Friday. The website data shows that as of noon Eastern time on that day, a total of 1097 flights were canceled and 3608 flights were delayed in the United States. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning in the afternoon, stating "this storm will continue from today until early Saturday, bringing dangerous travel conditions to the Great Lakes region, the northern part of the Mid-Atlantic, and southern New England."
