This year, the total value of global M&A transactions has surpassed $4 trillion, reaching $4.5 trillion, marking the second highest level in history. There have been a total of 68 deals with individual transaction sizes of at least $10 billion, reshaping multiple industries from media to industry. Companies have been leveraging market conditions, abundant financing channels, and the relatively relaxed regulatory environment in the United States to drive strategic transactions that would be difficult to achieve under other circumstances. According to data from the London Stock Exchange Group, global M&A transactions have grown by nearly 50% compared to 2024, reaching $4.5 trillion. This is the second highest level in over 40 years, second only to the M&A frenzy in 2021. The surge in transactions has led to investment banking fees rising to approximately $135 billion, a 9% year-on-year increase. More than half of this increase comes from the United States, with the total size of deals targeting American companies reaching $2.3 trillion, the highest proportion since 1998.
