: Talks and legal rights protection are being promoted simultaneously.
Recently, a key development in the ANET Semiconductor incident has come to light: MediaTek has taken the initiative to engage in dialogue with the "ANET Semiconductor trustee." How is the communication progressing? At the shareholders' meeting on December 26, MediaTek responded that, due to the confidentiality obligations of both parties, they are temporarily unable to disclose detailed information about the progress of the talks. However, the company listed several controversial actions of ANET Netherlands that day: interrupting the supply of wafers to ANET China; publicly issuing letters baselessly defaming the quality of ANET China's products; demanding suppliers at a global supplier conference not to cooperate with ANET China, thereby obstructing the company's normal operations and production supply from the upstream of the industry chain. Aside from negotiations, MediaTek is also seeking legal recourse. The company stated that it has initiated multiple legal proceedings in the Netherlands to vigorously protect the legitimate rights and interests of the company and all shareholders through judicial means. The company explained that the Dutch government's intervention violates the Sino-Dutch Bilateral Investment Protection Agreement. MediaTek submitted a dispute notice on October 15, and if the issue is not resolved within 6 months, the company may seek international arbitration, with a potential claim amount of up to 8 billion US dollars. In January 2026, the company will use the second hearing to reiterate its position and actively seek justice. MediaTek emphasized that the company firmly demands that any true solution must be based on the restoration of MediaTek's full rights as a shareholder and legal control over ANET. The company will use all legal means to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the company and all shareholders to the fullest extent possible.
