The Hu County Emergency Management Bureau of Xi'an recently issued a notice, allowing local residents to exchange remaining fireworks and firecrackers for items such as soap, hand sanitizer, rice, flour, and cooking oil in order to improve the quality of the ecological environment and eliminate fire hazards. The activity will take place from now until March 4, 2026, and the exchange is limited to Class C and D personal fireworks products that meet the regulations. People need to bring their remaining fireworks and firecrackers to designated exchange points, undergo verification and registration, and then receive the items. This measure is part of Xi'an's efforts to implement the action plan for combating air pollution and strengthen the control of fireworks and firecrackers.
