The extension project of the Changshen Expressway connecting Huai'an section is officially open to traffic.

On December 26, the expansion project of the Changshen Expressway Lianhuai section was completed and officially opened to traffic. The Changshen Expressway Lianhuai section is an important segment of the national expressway network from Changchun to Shenzhen, with a total length of 98.6 kilometers, starting from the Liangyungang Ninghai interchange in the north and ending at the Huai'an Wangxing interchange in the south. The project upgraded the original two-way four-lane road to a two-way eight-lane road, with the design speed also increased to 120 kilometers per hour. According to calculations, the daily average traffic capacity of small vehicles on this section will increase from 25,000-55,000 vehicles before the expansion to 70,000-100,000 vehicles, achieving a doubling of traffic capacity.
