The National Development and Reform Commission issued the "Basic Rules for the Long-term Electricity Market".
The regulations require coordinating the construction of mid- to long-term power markets and spot power markets, ensuring smooth connectivity in terms of trading schedule, trading clearance, market settlement, etc., and leveraging the fundamental role of mid- to long-term power markets in balancing long-term power supply and demand, and stabilizing the operation of power markets. Adapting to the fluctuating characteristics of new energy output, achieving flexible continuous trading, promoting multi-year power purchase agreements, and stabilizing long-term consumption space.
