According to data from the central bank, as of the end of the third quarter of 2025, the total assets of financial institutions in China were 53.176 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.7% year-on-year. Among them, the total assets of banking institutions were 47.431 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.9% year-on-year; the total assets of securities institutions were 1.705 trillion yuan, an increase of 16.5% year-on-year; the total assets of insurance institutions were 4.04 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.4% year-on-year. The total liabilities of financial institutions were 48.585 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.8% year-on-year. Among them, the total liabilities of banking institutions were 43.595 trillion yuan, an increase of 8% year-on-year; the total liabilities of securities institutions were 1.325 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.2% year-on-year; the total liabilities of insurance institutions were 3.665 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.3% year-on-year.
