The Shanghai Composite Index and the ChiNext Index both turned green.

Stock indexes rose and then fell back, with the Shanghai Composite Index and the ChiNext Index both plunging and turning green. Leading the decline were stocks in the papermaking, lithography machine, liquor, and computing hardware sectors. Nearly 3,600 stocks in the three major markets of Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing experienced a decline.
