The Rapid Support Forces of Sudan announced that they have taken control of the border area of North Darfur State.
The Rapid Support Forces of Sudan announced on the 24th that its forces have fully controlled the areas bordering Chad in the western part of Sudan's North Darfur state, including Umm Kamara and Abu Baro. The organization stated that this action has ended government control in the area and has deployed troops to "protect civilians and restore order." Following this operation, the Rapid Support Forces now control the borderlines of Sudan with Chad, Libya, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan. The Sudanese military has not yet commented on this matter.
