On the 25th local time, the Turkish prosecutor's office announced that authorities have detained hundreds of terrorism suspects, accusing them of following orders from the extremist organization "Islamic State" and plotting attacks in Turkey during the New Year period. The Istanbul Prosecutor's Office stated that authorities had learned of a plot by the "Islamic State" to launch attacks against non-Muslim groups in Turkey during the New Year period. As a result, arrest warrants were issued for 137 suspects on charges of terrorism, leading to the arrest of 115 individuals in 124 locations and the seizure of a quantity of weapons and ammunition. Police will continue to pursue the remaining wanted suspects. This is the latest in a series of large-scale arrests in Turkey related to suspects associated with the "Islamic State". On the 19th, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that police had carried out arrests in 32 provinces over the past two weeks, targeting individuals who had participated in "Islamic State" activities or provided financial support to the organization, resulting in the arrest of 170 people. Turkey officially designated the "Islamic State" as a terrorist organization in 2013. In recent years, the "Islamic State" has planned attacks in Turkey, prompting ongoing counter-terrorism operations by Turkish security forces to combat the organization's networks.
