Journalists learned from Shanxi Aviation Industry Group Co., Ltd. that on December 25th, the second runway of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport was officially put into use and the runway transition work was completed. This marks an important milestone in the third phase expansion project of Taiyuan Wusu International Airport, significantly enhancing the airport's operational support capability. The new second runway at Taiyuan Wusu International Airport is located 490 meters south of the center line of the first runway, with a deviation of 1350 meters eastward from the west end of the first runway. The new runway is 3600 meters long and 45 meters wide, capable of accommodating Boeing 747-400 and similar aircraft for takeoff and landing. After this transition, the airport will alleviate the operational and maintenance pressure caused by the long-term use of the first runway, further enhancing operational safety and reliability. Following the transition to the second runway, the first runway will undergo a two-year renovation. As an important safety facility for aircraft takeoff and landing, the second runway's navigational light system is fully equipped with LED energy-saving fixtures, combined with the use of sine wave dimmers to achieve high power factor operation. The simultaneous introduction of an intelligent cable warning system and a smart lighting station operation and maintenance management system allows for real-time monitoring of cable status and full-lifecycle digital management of related equipment. Through multi-system integration and linkage, airport lighting maintenance shifts from a "passive repair" approach to "active prevention," further improving operational reliability.
