In the first week of the Hainan Free Trade Port's closure, over 4 billion yuan worth of imported goods enjoyed zero tariffs.
Hainan Free Trade Port officially launched the island-wide customs closure in the first week. According to statistics from Haikou Customs, from December 18th to 24th, Haikou Customs supervised over 4 billion yuan worth of imported goods benefiting from zero tariffs on the "first line"; and over 20 million yuan worth of processed and value-added goods benefiting from duty-free on the "second line". In the first week of customs closure, Hainan added 1,972 new foreign trade record companies, an increase of 2.3 times year-on-year. As of now, the number of newly recorded customs clearance units for the year has exceeded 30,000, an increase of over 40% year-on-year.
