Differentiated toll policies on several highways in various counties and cities in Zhejiang Province are set to expire, and tolls for local license plates will resume starting in 2026.

On December 25th, it was reported by the relevant departments in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province that starting from January 1st, 2026, the policy of allowing locally registered cars with county-level license plates to travel on highways for free will be cancelled after over 5 years of implementation. In the future, only the 4 designated national holidays will be eligible for free highway travel.
