Former standing committee member of the Rizhao Municipal Committee and former deputy mayor of the municipal government, Zhang Dianhu, has been expelled from the party and removed from public office for serious violations of discipline and law.

On December 25th, the Discipline Inspection Commission of Shandong Province announced that, with the approval of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, they have initiated an investigation into the serious violations of discipline and laws by Zhang Dianhu, former member of the Rizhao Municipal Committee and former Deputy Mayor of the City Government. After investigation, it was found that Zhang Dianhu had lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original intentions and missions, was disloyal and dishonest to the party, resisted organizational scrutiny, ignored the spirit of the central eight regulations, illegally accepted consumer cards, concealed personal matters, did not truthfully explain issues during organizational talks, engaged in illegal business activities, lent money to management and service targets for large returns, allowed relatives to use his authority for personal gain, illegally occupied public property, used his power for personal gain through corrupt practices, engaged in power-for-money transactions, and accepted large amounts of illicit property. Zhang Dianhu's actions seriously violated party political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, and national laws and regulations. They constitute serious violations of duty, and he is suspected of corruption, bribery, illegal transfer of land use rights, and occupation of duty. Since the 18th Party Congress, he has not restrained himself and continued his misconduct, which is of a serious nature and has a negative impact, and therefore, he should be severely dealt with. In accordance with relevant regulations such as the "Disciplinary Regulations of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Punishment Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," the Discipline Inspection Commission of Shandong Province, after discussion at a meeting of the Standing Committee and approval from the Provincial Party Committee, has decided to expel Zhang Dianhu from the Party, dismiss him from his public office, revoke his qualification as a representative of the 14th Party Congress of Rizhao City, cancel his honorary titles, confiscate his illegally obtained assets, and transfer his suspected criminal issues to the procuratorial organ for investigation and prosecution, along with the seized property.
