Zhejiang Tiantai pumped storage power station's first unit connected to the grid for power generation.

According to China Energy News, on December 25th, it was reported by the Three Gorges Group that the first unit of the Zhejiang Tiantai Pumped Storage Power Station, a key project of the "14th Five-Year Plan", has successfully connected to the grid for power generation, marking another key breakthrough in China's pumped storage major equipment and engineering construction field. This power station is a key project that started construction and achieved the production of the first unit during the "14th Five-Year Plan", with a total investment of approximately 10.741 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 1.7 million kilowatts. It has a total of 4 units with a single machine capacity of 425,000 kilowatts each, setting multiple industry records and achieving "three firsts and three first times": the first in domestic single machine capacity, the world's first in rated head, and the first in domestic single-level inclined well length. It is the first time to realize the scale application of domestically produced steel plates and welding materials in the pumped storage industry, the first time to systematically apply low heat concrete technology, and the first time to apply unmanned leveling machine paving in the pumped storage industry.
