Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong ranks first on South Korea's wealthiest shareholders list.
On December 24th, the South Korean corporate data research institution CEOSCORE released the year-end domestic stockholding list, with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong topping the list. The list is based on the shares and market value held by each shareholder of listed companies as of the end of December last year and December 19th this month. During the same period, the market value of Lee Jae-yong's shares held increased from 12.033 trillion Korean won to 23.359 trillion Korean won, a growth rate of 94.1%. Chairman Cho Jung-ho of the financial services group Meritz Financial ranked second on the list, holding shares worth 10.7131 trillion Korean won, an increase of 547.4 billion Korean won.
