On the 24th, the Rural Economic Department of the National Development and Reform Commission issued a document stating that it aims to strengthen industry for rural prosperity in counties, accelerate the cultivation of new industries and business formats in rural areas. It seeks to develop county-specific economies, explore various functions of agriculture, promote the deep integration of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries in rural areas, foster the growth of unique rural industries, improve mechanisms to connect agricultural production with marketing, and promote stable income growth for farmers. It aims to standardize, gather, and brand rural industries and strengthen the construction of rural industry platforms. It also aims to improve the logistics system for agricultural products, optimize the cold chain logistics system, and enhance the network of cold storage facilities at the source. In addition, it aims to promote moderately scaled agricultural operations, enhance the quality of development for new agricultural entities, improve efficient and convenient social services for agriculture, and promote organic connections between small-scale farmers and modern agriculture. Lastly, it supports the development of new rural collective economies.
