The French National Assembly has passed a special law to ensure the continued funding of the government until January of next year.
On December 23, local time, the French National Assembly passed a special law to temporarily extend the budget for 2025 until January next year to maintain the government's financial operation. The text was unanimously approved by the 496 members who attended the vote. The special law also needs to be passed by the Senate later in the day to take full effect. Due to the French Parliament's failure to reach an agreement on the national budget for 2026, the French government had previously introduced this special law to maintain the national finances operational while the official budget has not been passed.
