The inter-departmental working group led by the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, announced today the latest situation and arrangements for the New Year holiday, with an estimated 11.52 million people expected to enter and exit Hong Kong through various sea, land, and air control points. Following negotiations between the Hong Kong Immigration Department and the Mainland China Shenzhen Immigration Inspection General Station, it is expected that approximately 9.65 million people will enter and exit Hong Kong through various land border control points.
