On December 23, the first batch of L3 level highway autonomous driving vehicle special license plates in Beijing were officially issued by the Beijing Public Security Bureau Traffic Management Bureau to three intelligent connected vehicles. This is also the first batch of L3 level highway autonomous driving vehicle special license plates issued in China. This marks the progress of China's autonomous driving vehicles from testing demonstrations to formal mass production, leading the way in the L3 level autonomous driving era and becoming a milestone event in the process of automotive intelligence. Currently, the "conditionally automated driving" function is only available on Beijing's Jing-Tai Highway, Airport North Line Highway, and Daxing Airport Highway. On other roads or in other areas, this function will be forcibly shut down by the system.
