Today, the Baotou to Yinchuan high-speed railway Baotou to Huinong section officially opened. With this, the Baoyin high-speed railway has achieved full-line operation, and the cities of Bayannur and Wuhai in Inner Mongolia have entered the high-speed rail era. The Baoyin high-speed railway starts from Baotou Station, passes through the cities of Baotou, Bayannur, Ordos, and Wuhai in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and the cities of Shizuishan and Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and connects to Yinchuan Station. The main line is 519 kilometers long with a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour. The journey from Baotou to Yinchuan can be completed in as fast as 2 hours and 38 minutes, reducing the travel time by 3 hours and 20 minutes compared to the current conventional passenger trains.
