On December 21st, CNOOC announced that China's largest offshore oil field, the Bohai Oilfield, is expected to surpass 40 million tons of oil and gas production equivalent by 2025, reaching a historical high and providing solid guarantees for national energy security and high-quality economic and social development. The Bohai Oilfield is the highest-producing and largest offshore oil field in China, with over 60 oil and gas fields in production and more than 200 production facilities, having produced over 600 million tons of crude oil. In the past five years, the oil and gas production at the Bohai Oilfield has grown at an average annual rate of 5%, with crude oil accounting for nearly 40% of the national total increase.
