Audit Office: Cancel the qualification for new household appliances sales companies to receive subsidies under the pretense of "two new".

This afternoon, entrusted by the State Council, the Audit Office reported to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on the rectification of the problems found in the audit of the execution of the central budget and other fiscal revenues and expenditures in 2024. This "Audit Rectification Report" specifically tracked the rectification of major project audit findings related to the "two zones" and "two new" initiatives, and promoted further improvement of implementation plans in these areas. The report pointed out that the rectification of issues related to the "two zones" and "two new" involved a total of 10.335 billion yuan, with 25 system improvements. It supervised localities to recover funds improperly obtained from the "two zones" and "two new" initiatives, and deducted funds from the relevant localities in 2025. The localities have recovered or actually paid back 5.975 billion yuan of misappropriated funds related to the "two zones" and "two new"; they have also investigated the issue of home appliance sales companies defrauding "two new" subsidies, revoked the eligibility of the companies involved in subsidies, and implemented several measures to prevent fraud and promote the efficiency of the funds.
