China Household Electrical Appliances Association: Rational Understanding of "Aluminum instead of Copper", Consumers Should Have the Right to Information and Choice

On December 22nd, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association issued a statement saying that in recent days, due to the sharp rise in copper prices breaking historical records, the "aluminum instead of copper" in the household air conditioning industry has once again become a hot topic of discussion. Behind the heated discussions lies a comprehensive consideration of industry development and consumer needs - "aluminum instead of copper" is not a panacea, but with the premise that quality cannot be compromised, and consumer rights to information and choice cannot be neglected. In the face of the development trend of "aluminum instead of copper" in the household air conditioning industry, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association proposed five suggestions: it is recommended that companies scientifically divide the promotion areas and price ranges of aluminum instead of copper products according to product positioning, usage environment, and target audience. The industry should speed up the formulation of technical standards for the use of aluminum heat exchangers in household air conditioners, guiding companies to use aluminum heat exchangers rationally to avoid market confusion and consumer disputes caused by the lack of standards.
