National Space Administration: Coordinate the "space shooting stars" model of civil and commercial remote sensing satellites, significantly improving the emergency response speed of satellite observation.
Meng Lingjie, director of the National Space Administration's Earth Observation and Data Center, stated at the fourth press conference of "Data Valorization: We are in Action" on December 22nd that the National Space Administration, as the industry regulatory authority, coordinates the national civil and commercial remote sensing satellite resources, establishes a virtual satellite observation constellation in China to meet the high-efficiency emergency disaster reduction observation needs, and fundamentally improve the efficiency of user data acquisition and satellite utilization. It was introduced that in the practical application of disaster prevention and reduction, the scheduling and circulation of satellite data can be analogized to a "space version of ride-hailing", vividly referred to as "space boxing". Meng Lingjie said that the coordinated "space boxing" mode of civil and commercial remote sensing satellites has greatly improved the speed of satellite observation emergency response. "Coordinating civil and commercial satellites" is not simply a superposition of resources, but through process-oriented scheduling and data sharing, it truly makes dispersed data "run", transforming into visible disaster reduction satellite monitoring data as a new quality "productivity".
