New Year's Day holiday is approaching, data from online travel booking platforms show that the recent search volume for flights to Haikou and Sanya has rapidly risen to the top five popular cities nationwide, with a significant increase in flight bookings. Big data shows that the upcoming New Year's Day holiday is also the first long weekend after the closure of Hainan. The domestic flight bookings to Hainan have exceeded 720,000, an increase of about 10% compared to last year. Looking at the flight booking volume on multiple online travel booking platforms, the flight bookings to Haikou and Sanya before and after New Year's Day have increased by 19% and 51% respectively. Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and other cities are popular source cities. For example, the economy class fares for flights from Beijing to Sanya on the evening of December 31 and from Sanya to Shanghai on January 3 have already risen to over 2000 yuan.
