The Burundian national broadcaster reported on the 19th that a cholera outbreak has occurred at a refugee reception point in the country, causing 34 people to be infected, with one person dead. The report cited information provided by the Burundian National Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons, saying that the cholera outbreak occurred at the Busuma refugee camp in the eastern province of Burhuzwa. The camp started receiving refugees from the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, including Uvira, on the 9th, and by the 18th had received over 21,000 refugees, exceeding its maximum capacity.
