The DNA testing for the victims of the Hong Kong Tai Po Wang Fuk Court fire is still in progress.

On December 20th, the Commissioner of Police of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Chris Tang Ping-keung, held a press conference and announced that the DNA of a couple has been identified from one of the bodies found in the fire at the Ngau Hom Shek Estate in Tai Po, Hong Kong. As a result, the number of confirmed fatalities from the fire has now risen to 161. Tang also mentioned that as DNA testing is still ongoing, it is possible that the number of fatalities may continue to increase.
